Nepal won by five wickets against Scotland

Kathmandu, July 14 Nepal beat Scotland in the second match of the tri-nation series under the ICC World Cup League-2 by five wickets in a recent match played at the Titwood Cricket Ground in Glasgow, Scotland.

This is the first time Nepal has beaten Scotland. Earlier, Nepal could not beat Scotland in both ODI and T20 matches. Chasing a victory target of 145 runs, Nepal scored 146 runs for the loss of five wickets in 25.1 overs.

Ashif Sheikh was the top scorer for Nepal with 71 runs. Rohit Poudel scored 34 runs and Kushal Bhurtel scored 27 runs. In bowling, Scotland’s Gavin Main took three wickets and Arden Neal and Richie Barrington took one wicket each.

Scotland scored 144 runs for the loss of all wickets in 42.5 overs. Gavin Maine scored 64 runs for Scotland. Mark Watt scored 17, Safyan Sharif 16 and Kalum McLeod 13 runs.

Sompal Kami and Adil Alam took three wickets each for Nepal. Captain Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets and Karan KC and Dipendra Singh took one wicket each.

Nepal has risen to the fifth position with 17 points from 18 games. Scotland is in second place with 30 points from 22 games. In the first match of the series, Nepal lost to Namibia by 40 runs. Nepal will play the third match of the series against Namibia on Saturday and the final match against Scotland on Sunday.
